past actions

Over the past 20 years, Geena & Rufus have not only devoted themselves to their music, where their lyrics have addressed social injustices and called for more courage and humanity, but have also demonstrated their commitment to environmental causes.

StandArt & Poors Social Club
at Geena`s Own

a weird place for the community
with wool, upcycled fashion & live music

In mid-March 2015, the “schräge Bude” (literally “weird place”) – as Andreas Geier and Barbara Trenti, better known as Andy Rufus and Geena B., also call or called their cultural workshop – came to an end. Sad, but unfortunately true, and not just a saying. The premises at Nodlinstraße 4 in Leifers housed the StandArt & Poors Social Club, a cultural and music bar, as well as Geena's Own, a knitting café, shop, and tailor's with upcycled and handmade clothing and fashion, and the fashion label Gina Fiore handmade&organic fashion, which was actually where it all started. A concept that exists and works hundreds of times over in other cities such as Berlin or Milan, but apparently reaches its limits in South Tyrol and Leifers.

Incidentally, Geena B. and Andy Rufus are musicians. Perhaps that's why things were never quiet (even in a figurative sense) or boring for them: bands were formed, artists mastered their first performances, were given the opportunity to show their work to the public for the first time, people met, talked to each other (!) and came up with new ideas together... Now, after two years, 1,280 members, 100 concerts, 23 vernissages, and around 40 themed evenings, it's all coming to an end! Why? What's next? Where to? We wanted to know more and asked the two busy creative minds and cultural figures Andy Rufus and Geena B.

ZERO KM DINNER

In 2015, Geena and Rufus organized 10 dinner in locations in South Tyrol where chefs conjured up wonderful multi-course menus from ingredients sourced within a 0 km radius. Ingredients for the dishes All the ingredients were organic.

It was a great success, with lots of people coming and confirming that we were on the right track.

These events were enriched it with a supporting program of live painting and upcycled fashion.
