Echoes from the fields is the second album of Geena & Rufus released in May 2023. After the success of their first album White Mice 2020, the two artists, environmental activists and hemp entrepreneurs have recorded their second studio album. This was partly recorded at Nomoss Record Studios in Hamburg and in a lost room of a 450 years old house in Italy. Their songs, which they basically write, record, produce and promote themselves, mainly deal with topics about social ills,
deceleration, sustainability and non-buyable values. In the same sense, special technical aids were not used on the album. The entire album was recorded with natural instruments, partly analog.
The emptiness and the hibernation of the fields serve symbolically for silence. That silence that gives too much space to one`s own thoughts, reflects them like an echo and as a deafening silence prevents us from savoring the present in all its facets. No matter whether good or bad. The message is: don’t discuss it. Do it.
